Dr. Jan Hoistad Installed as New Interact Board Chair
Interact Center for the Visual and Performing Arts welcomes Dr. Jan Hoistad as the new Board Chair. After serving on the Board last year, Jan will make the easy transition to Chair with her strong background and knowledge of both the arts and disability communities. Founder Jeanne Calvit said, “Jan’s warm personality, knowledge about the arts and connection to those with disabilities makes her the perfect fit to lead the Board over the next several years. She will be persistent in keeping Interact focused on future goals laid out by our strategic plan. We are lucky to have Jan at the helm!”
Jan is the founder and owner of Choice Point Solutions. She specializes in executive coaching and consulting, partnering with experienced professionals navigating business, career and life stages, through growth, transition and exit planning. Among the long list of her accomplishments, Jan is the author of books and many articles for professional couples and people in career and business transition. Her work with both personal and business partners led her to develop the Big Picture Partnering™ coaching approach to successful and satisfying relationships. Through several decades assisting numerous individuals, partners and teams, Jan has the skills to lead Interact while bringing a new and fresh perspective.
Meet Dr. Jan Hoistad
An Executive Coach, Business Consultant, and Advisor, Dr. Jan is passionate about helping people develop the skills necessary to achieve success and fulfillment in their lives. Over the course of her 35+ year career, she has advised countless executives, business partners, entrepreneurs, business owners, dual career and entrepreneurial couples. She partners with her clients during these times so they confidently land on the best possible outcome that connects their immediate choices with the whole-life future they envision. As a result, her clients become catalysts for change in their businesses, and in the lives of everyone they touch.
With beginnings in art, psychology, creativity and learning styles, Dr. Jan is a Licensed Psychologist with an M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. She has taught in the psychology departments of San Francisco State and Sacramento State Universities and served on the faculty of St. Olaf College. Extensive work in communications, organizational advancement and leadership development, along with training in negotiation from Harvard’s Project on Negotiation (PON), mediation through Minnesota Dispute Resolution Services (MDR), Neutral Coaching through the Collaborative Law Institute (CLI) as well as Certification in Exit Planning (CEP) through the Exit Planning Institute (EPI) all enhance the expertise she brings to her client’s challenges.
