The current crisis in Ukraine has affected us all, including Interact artists. Two in particular wanted to take action by donating a few pieces of art to support an organization that helps the people of Ukraine.
Visual artist Jill Reedy explained, “The reason I decided to create something to benefit Ukraine is because I saw the huge need for support for that country and the people. I kept hearing stories that touched my heart. It was one of those times where I just wanted to fix the whole problem, knowing full well I couldn’t. I spent many sleepless nights filled with anxiety and sadness for these people. I had to decide to do something. I thought about it and knew I could not fix everything but I could do my part in doing something small. I had to start somewhere. Each person doing a little adds up to a lot.”
Visual artist Vickie LaCroix is also passionate about taking action. “I wanted to create art in support of the Ukraine people because this war is barbaric. Innocent people are being targeted and killed. Seeing the suffering of the people breaks my heart. I want them to know there are people around the world who support and care for them.”
Images of the three pieces of art are below. 100% of the proceeds will go to Stand with Ukraine Minnesota, an organization which supports Ukrainians with medical support, food and clothing. If you would like to purchase a piece of art, please contact Raleigh Wolpert at 612-802-7479 or email email@example.com She will help you with your purchase. Thank you.
